Senior Consultant | Property Tax

Forvis Mazars is seeking a Senior Consultant to assist our State and Local Tax group with our growing property tax compliance and consulting function. The qualified candidate should have experience with multi-jurisdictional property tax compliance for multiple large organizations. The qualified candidate should also have experience with property tax compliance software with a strong preference for OneSource Property Tax. Further, the qualified candidate should also have experience with property tax consulting projects.

How you will contribute:

• Maintaining tax calendars
• Reconciling fixed assets/inventory
• Preparation and filing of personal property renditions
• Reviewing tax bills
• Protesting assessments
• Manage property tax consulting projects including but not limited to valuation studies, obsolescence studies, and duplicate assessments
• Coach and mentor property tax compliance team
• Build relationships with clients and prospects

• Strong project management and practice development skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• An ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and experience levels both verbally and in writing
• Attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 3-5 years or more of relevant work experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an advanced understanding of MS Excel

• Advanced degree in business, tax, or law
• Active CPA license or CMI certification
• Experience in sales/use tax and credits and incentives Experience with CCH Intelliconnect, RIA Checkpoint, and/or BNA Tax research software
