Budget Analyst - District Office
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Performs a variety of accounting duties in support of the fiscal affairs of the college and examine, summarize, maintain and reconcile funds, organizations, and accounts. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support objectives. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting by compiling and analyzing financial results, Assist in process improvements and automation initiatives within Financial Planning & Analysis.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare budget and expenditure reports.
- Review budget and expenditures and process journal entries for any necessary corrections, adjustments, or reconciliations.
- Process college-wide budget transfer requests.
- Process Banner Finance security set-up.
- Organize and arrange data in spreadsheets, databases, tables, graphs and charts.
- Anaplan Model Builder- will help to develop and maintain modules in Anaplan
- Assist Sr Financial Analyst with Anaplan training, support, and license reviews.
- Gather, analyze and summarize financial and budget data and information.
- Prepare budget and expenditure reports for managers throughout the college monthly and upon request.
- Assists in preparation of the annual budget.
- Assisting with the budget development process and budgetary adjustments.
- Assist in uploading the annual budget to Banner.
- Serve on the functional team to maintain all modules of the Banner Finance system and Anaplan budget software module.
- Provide troubleshooting/problem solving to Finance module and Anaplan budget software module.
- Utilize interactive and multimedia technologies to facility effective delivery.
- Provide telephone and on-campus end user support for Banner and Anaplan.
- Support Banner software implementation via position attitude and proactive problem resolution skills.
- Provide feedback to Director regarding effectiveness of materials, identify deficiencies in end user training results and provide suggestions for improvements.
Additional Duties:
- Perform month-end and year-end closings and financial reporting processes timely and accurately.
- Assist the Sr Financial Analyst in running monthly reports in Anaplan.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong computer and typing skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
- Be able to complete the Level 1Model Builder training in Anaplan within one year.
- Perform large amounts of data entry accurately and efficiently.
- Analyze and interpret data.
- Convert data from different formats.
- Organize data to create various reports and charts for presentation.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to prioritize and adjust to pressures to meet deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task and take on additional workload when necessary.
- Must be disciplined and manage time effectively.

Required Education:
- Associate's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field plus an additional 15 hours of college course work.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
Required Experience:
- Three years of experience in financial analysis and budget development.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge in Ellucian/Banner ERP system
- Anaplan planning and budgeting tool experience
- Higher education experience
Note: The duties of this position require physical presence at the assigned on-site work location during unrestricted operations with very limited or no opportunity for remote work arrangements.
Salary Grade: 110
