Modern Technology Solutions Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly organized and strategic individual to fill the role of Chief of Staff for the Commander, 2nd Sustainment Squadron, Mission Delta 2 (2STS/MD2). The Chief of Staff will play a pivotal role in supporting the Commander in managing and executing key initiatives, fostering effective communication within the organization, mentoring and teaching squadron personnel, and driving overall operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to the Commander, possessing exceptional leadership abilities and organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to navigate complex situations with poise and discretion located in El Segundo, CA.

Responsibilities

As a Chief of Staff with MTSI, you will provide support to the Commander, 2nd Sustainment Squadron, Mission Delta 2.This position is located in El Segundo, CA.

Your essential job functions will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Managing key integration activities that will support the delivering of system-level capabilities.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Commander to develop and implement strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Project Management: Oversee and manage key projects, ensuring they are executed in a timely and efficient manner. Provide regular updates to the Commander on project status and potential challenges.
  • Communication Facilitation: Act as a liaison between the Commander and various stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and information flow throughout the organization.
  • Meeting Preparation and Follow-up: Prepare materials for meetings, including agendas, presentations, and briefing documents. Follow up on action items and decisions made during meetings.
  • Information Management: Organize and manage information flows to and from the Commander's office, ensuring that relevant information is conveyed accurately and promptly.
  • Problem Solving: Anticipate challenges and proactively address issues that may arise, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex situations with tact and discretion.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to drive cross-functional initiatives and ensure alignment across the organization. Establish effective working relationships with squadron personnel, and credibility with higher-echelon organizations.
  • Decision Support: Provide analytical support to the Commander, assisting in decision-making processes through data collection, analysis, and research.
  • Representational Duties: Represent the Commander in meetings as needed, and act as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries.
  • Performance Monitoring: Assist in monitoring and evaluating the performance of various organizational functions, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management role, executive support, or Chief of Staff position.
  • Proven experience in a Chief of Staff, Executive Officer, or similar role, preferably in a leadership position.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to evolving priorities and responsibilities.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Over 15 years of experience in a senior management role, executive support, or Chief of Staff position.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Advanced degree, Desired.

Security Clearance Level Required:

  • Active Secret security clearance is required for this position.
  • Must be eligible to obtain Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

The pay range for this position in California is $120,000/year to $162,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
