The Opportunity The Legal Counsel supporting Operations will provide sophisticated, pragmatic, proactive legal advice to clients within Roche Diagnostics Operations on all aspects of facilities, manufacturing and operations, with a heavy emphasis on drafting and negotiating both direct and indirect procurement contracts, including services agreements, supply and logistics agreements, real estate agreements and construction agreements. Additionally, responsible for advising the operations and facilities team on safety, health and environmental (SHE) legal issues. This position will support and report to the Head of Employment and Labor Law, and will be a primary attorney interfacing with the Roche Diagnostics Operations business, as well as related Roche manufacturing and logistics activities. This role will create sophisticated and efficient process improvement initiatives for the Procurement and the Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) functions, will develop and conduct training, and will coordinate compliance activities for day-to-day work and to facilitate proactive counseling of the Operations business. Contributes to Law Department policy development based on cross-functional expertise, collaboration with business and legal stakeholders and exposure to multiple aspects of Roche business. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with wide-ranging experience in the relevant areas (Procurement, Real Estate, Construction, Environmental, Litigation), business acumen, professionalism and sound judgment. Deals with diverse and oftentimes complex and sensitive issues, where analysis may require discretion, collaboration and in-depth evaluation of many factors. Exercises judgment in evaluating methods and may determine criteria for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in area of expertise, as well as some key contacts outside area of expertise. Who You Are
This position is based in Indianapolis, IN and has an in office requirement. Relocation benefits are not available for this posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is$138,000 to $256,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
