Purpose:

American Modern's (AMIG) Operations Consulting Group (OCG) is a team of individuals from diverse backgrounds that share a passion for efficiency, effectiveness & pragmatic execution. We report to the Chief Operating Officer, but work will all areas of the company and the greater Munich Re organization. While we report through American Modern Insurance Group, we function as a shared service to the greater Global Munich Re portfolio of companies and are considered Munich Re's center of excellence for all three of our service offerings.

OCG is made up of three separate teams, each delivering a full set of services that work together closely to deliver a broad portfolio of operational excellence solutions:

  • Consulting: Provides Lean Six Sigma based process improvement services
  • Business Process Outsourcing: Uses third party staffing to execute standard work activities in low-cost international locations
  • Automation & Business Solutions: It focuses on optimizing business processes through automation and custom solutions. They build workflows using Power Automate (Cloud and Desktop) to streamline tasks, while leveraging SharePoint for collaboration and document management, and Power Apps to create tailored business applications. This approach enhances efficiency and drives innovation across the organization.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our dynamic team within the Microsoft Power Platform environment. In this role, you will oversee multiple concurrent projects-including over 40 automated solutions and five business solutions-while managing diverse teams spread across onshore and offshore locations. You will serve as the central point for client and stakeholder communications, ensuring that project progress is tracked effectively using Microsoft Planner and reported through Power BI. Your responsibilities will include resource management, risk mitigation, quality assurance, and driving continuous process improvements. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight:
    • Manage and coordinate multiple concurrent projects across cross-functional teams including technical architects, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, and technical leads
    • Use Microsoft Planner to track progress and ensure every project meets its deadlines and deliverables
  • Stakeholder & Client Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, facilitating clear and timely communications regarding project status, escalations, and overall progress
    • Proactively engage with both onshore and offshore teams to ensure alignment and address any challenges promptly
  • Resource Management & Process Optimization:
    • Monitor resource allocation and team utilization to avoid wastage and maximize efficiency
    • Identify opportunities for continuous process improvements and implement changes that drive effectiveness across the team
  • Risk Management & Quality Assurance:
    • Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure adherence to quality standards and industry best practices across all projects
    • Ensure that every project complies with the established standards and that all deliverables are achieved as planned
  • Technical Alignment & Innovation:
    • Leverage experience in Power Platform projects to work constructively with developers and technical leads, particularly in setting realistic timelines and deliverables
    • Integrate AI tools into daily project management practices, using data-driven insights to guide decision-making and measure success

Required Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Power Platform Expertise:
    • Hands-on experience managing projects within the Microsoft Power Platform environment
  • Project Management Tools Proficiency:
    • Experience with Microsoft Planner as a project tracking and collaboration tool
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    • Proficiency in Power BI for generating, analyzing, and reporting project performance metrics
  • Automation & Process Improvement:
    • Background in managing automation projects, preferably within the Power Platform ecosystem, with a clear understanding of development timelines and resource constraints
  • Emerging Technologies Integration:
    • Familiarity with utilizing AI-driven insights for enhanced project planning and risk management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a closely related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)
  • Agile or Scrum certifications
