Position Summary Reporting to and functioning under general supervision of the Director, the Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor manages the daily operations and staff of the outpatient imaging facility which includes multiple imaging modalities and registration. He/she assures preparation is complete for a variety of radiologic procedures to produce images of the body for the diagnosis of pathological conditions and traumatic disorders. May operate radiation producing equipment following specific physician orders and produce detailed images of patients for diagnostic information. Verifies patient identification process prior to imaging, selects patient worklist, ensures exam is obtained and archived on the PACS and completed properly in the RIS. Ensures facilities are in proper order. Must keep abreast of all imaging protocols and new imaging equipment. Collaborates with Supervisors of each modality at the hospital to ensure protocols are current and modality procedures are up to date. Ensures imaging center runs smoothly and efficiently. Education Completion from an accredited Radiology Technology program and registered by the ARRT. Experience Three to five years' experience as a staff imaging technologist and proficient in performing all procedures pertinent to area of responsibility. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience desired. Advanced registry in one modality preferred. Skills Registered in Radiologic Technology by the ARRT and a current and valid license from the State of NJ DEP. Current CPR certification thru the American Heart Association. Physical dexterity to operate a variety of complex stationery and mobile radiation producing equipment and mechanical accessories. Ability to work in sensitive areas including the OR and critical care units. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and vascular systems. Excellent interpersonal communication (oral, written, presentation) skills. Ability to perform tasks accurately with attention to details, changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function independently and competently in stressful situations and changing work environment related to changing patient needs. Ability to work cooperatively within the health-system, and with patients, family members, co-workers, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e. , physicians, Patient Care Services staff members, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Proficiency in window-based applications, Word and Excel desired.
