Solutions Architect

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Solutions Architect to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will provide pre-sales design support, consultative designs services and cost estimates for large-scale, complex, and specialized projects, including data centers, global deployments, and highly regulated environments such as UL2050 and defense projects. As a Solutions Architect, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate, high-value proposals and security designs that meet the unique demands of enterprise-level and special-handling projects.

What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

* Carry out in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications and contracts in order to determine and advise on overall project requirements

* Provides electronic security consultative and system design services including onsite security assessment and analysis of customer facilities when appropriate to develop security applications and standards

* Prepare detailed, comprehensive cost estimates for large-scale and highly complex projects, including data centers, global enterprise installations, and regulated environments (e.g., UL2050, defense, and government)

* Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and RFPs to develop highly accurate and competitive proposals

* Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, procurement, and operations to align estimates with project scope, technical requirements, and timelines

* Source and manage pricing from specialized vendors, subcontractors, and partners to ensure compliance with project standards and regulations

* Identify project risks, special handling requirements, and potential solutions to address regulatory and customer expectations

* Lead the estimating and design process for strategic, mission-critical, or global opportunities

* Mentor junior colleagues, providing technical guidance and support

* Participate in client meetings and presentations to clarify project scope and value proposition

* Work with installation teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy of estimates

* Apply industry knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements

* Track project costs, potential risks, and margins to optimize pricing strategies

* Stay updated on security technology, industry standards, and product pricing

* Ensure estimates align with company pricing strategies and market competitiveness

* Prepare and present accurate proposals to internal and external customers

* Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

What You'll Need

* Expertise in access control, CCTV, and physical security systems, with a focus on large-scale enterprise and data center deployments

* Excellent AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint skills

* Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for specialized environments, including federal/defense projects, and global standards

* Proficiency in advanced estimating tools, Microsoft Office, and project collaboration software

* Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills

* Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and deliver under tight deadlines

* Excellent communication and leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience. Minimum Experience: 5-8 years of experience in estimating, project management, or system design for complex and large-scale electronic physical security projects.
