The University of Missouri School of Medicine Department of Dermatology Job Description
The University of Missouri Department of Dermatology is seeking a part time Medical Scribe to work primarily at our Jefferson City location. The Department of Dermatology is dedicated to providing the highest quality dermatologic care for citizens of central and rural Missouri and beyond. Primary Responsibilities: Accompany physicians during patient exams to transcribe history of present illness and precisely document the physician's encounter with the patient, paying close attention to detail and accuracy. Communicates well with physicians, always asking questions when necessary to ensure accurate and complete visit notes. Documents diagnosis and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the physician. Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology test, medications, etc. Charts provider and patient encounter as the visit is occurring, paying great attention to detail and accuracy. Accurately documents dermatologic procedures performed such as biopsies, excisions, and cryotherapy. Works closely with dermatologist, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure accurate and thorough patient documentation. Prior medical office experience is preferred but not required. Shift
Shift Type: Work approximately 4 - 8 hours a week, available clinic hours Monday through Thursday 8am - 12 pm, and Mon - Tues 1PM - 5PM, may vary depending upon business needs. Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge or abilities can be acquired is necessary. Anticipated Hiring Range
