Job Description

The Quality Assurance Associate is responsible for documenting findings to maintain compliance with regulations and internal standards. This person will create and conduct training in areas such as quality, safety, and environmental systems. The Quality Assurance Associate will create and modify procedures & work instructions, conduct inspections, and perform tests as needed, enter data & create reports, perform audits, maintain training records and schedules.

Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED required, ISO Certifications a plus
  • 3+ years of experience with document & record control in a manufacturing setting required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other computer programs
  • Experience with ISO and OSHA Standards required
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in the Steel/Metals industry plus
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and report quality deviations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and reporting
  • Knowledge of quality control processes, including inspection, testing, and documentation
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and quality control standards



Responsibilities:



  • Conduct quality tests and analyze using various equipment, including tensile testers, hardness testers, and other specialized tools.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings and provide support to other departments as needed
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, seeking ways to enhance quality and efficiency
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality procedures and protocols
  • Identify and report any non-conforming products or processes, collaborating with different departments to address issues
  • Operating a forklift
  • Interpret and document test results and inspection data, ensuring accurate records are maintained
  • Perform visual inspections and measurements of steel products, components, and raw materials
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring the proper operation of equipment
