CCRC Clinical Family Consultant

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a CCRC Clinical Family Consultant for their SBCH CCRC department responsible for providing both family consultation and mental health counseling for Coast Caregiver Resource Center clients through assessment, care planning, education, coaching, referrals, group facilitation, and short-term individual therapy with caregiving families of adults with brain impairments and other disabling conditions. Major accountabilities include:



  • Family Consultation: Provides guidance and support to clients through assessment and reassessment, action planning, coaching on caregiving issues, referring to appropriate community resources, and offering educational and group support. Coordinates CCRC vendor services for clients by requesting authorization based on eligibility, need, and service availability and supporting the resolution of any concerns. Manages annual voucher budget according to policies and procedures, spends out the maximum possible without going over budget, and makes modifications as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS:

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

Education:



  • Minimum: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • Preferred: Coursework in Gerontology, Brain impairing conditions, Cognitive Impairments.


Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:



  • Minimum: Associate-level mental health provider and registered as an Associate with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences. Valid California driver license and own transportation.


*Associate-level providers must participate in clinical supervision with CCRC licensed clinicians as required by the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences to provide counseling services.



  • Preferred: Licensed mental health provider (e.g., Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Licensed Psychologist) and Psychological counseling experience with caregiving individuals and families.


*Licensed mental health providers not required to participate in clinical supervision to provide counseling services.

Technical Requirements:



  • Minimum: Computer skills adequate to enter data, complete reports, utilize email and the internet. Familiarity with neurological/cognitive impairments, issues facing family caregivers and knowledge of local resources.
  • Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.


Years of Related Work Experience:



  • Minimum: 5 years experience in geriatrics, mental health, case management, or related area.
  • Preferred: 3 years experience working with caregiving families.
