Job Description

  • Perform detailed product inspections on in process and finished goods, including but not limited to First Article Inspections.
  • Document characteristics of products accurately and with technical detail.
  • Initiate Quality Notifications for any non-conforming products.
  • Apply quality assurance procedures and requirements to the inspection of hardware and to document reviews.
  • Identify any potential quality issues early and help to prevent their occurrence.
  • Communicate effectively to other Collins Aerospace personnel any quality issues needing resolution.
  • Visually and dimensionally perform detailed inspection of individual parts to First Article Inspections and drawing BOM
  • Communicate inspection findings to mission systems team (onsite in CoS) and Interiors Quality management
  • Interpret blueprints, visual specifications, coating specifications, and other inspection documents
  • Use calliper's and micrometer's and other testing equipment
  • Relate inspection findings on actual components to blueprint requirements and specification requirements


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or AA/AS degree or other 2-year post high school training with 2 years of relevant experience
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder
  • Ability to pass color/vision test
  • Must have basic computer skills including the ability to use operating software including SAP
  • Must be able to use precision measuring tools, such as micrometers and calipers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages
  • Experience performing detailed product inspections using blueprints and specifications
  • The ability to utilize computer systems including input of data and retrieval of information for inspections and configuration purposes
  • The ability to review documents and to identify and resolve any errors or missing information.
