Job Title: Team Lead (Night Shift) Classification: Hourly Reports To: Manufacturing Supervisor, Production Manager or Operations Manager Department: Plant Administration
Summary of Job
The Foam Sheet Night Shift Team Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing production activities in the converting area within the department. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and a proven ability to lead and influence team members indirectly. This role focuses on motivating the team to achieve performance goals while ensuring smooth operations and maintaining a safe work environment. Responsibilities include sending daily shift updates, providing direct support as needed, and covering vacant positions when necessary. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide indirect leadership to team members through training, troubleshooting, and coaching.
- Accurately record, communicate, and maintain required documentation in a timely manner.
- Oversee Foam Converting for production and personnel related items, escalating as needed.
- Troubleshoot processing techniques and production machinery to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
- Develop a thorough understanding of all existing and new production equipment through ongoing training.
- Identify and implement solutions to departmental challenges, ensuring smooth operations.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and production performance.
- Support, demonstrate, and promote Pregis' core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus, and innovation.
- Strictly adhere to company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations, including compliance with all PPE requirements.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of production processes, promptly reporting any defects or concerns.
- Conduct quality checks on all converting assets every four hours, ensuring compliance with production standards. Document findings and file reports at the end of each shift.
- Strive to meet or exceed production targets while minimizing waste and ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly standard work is completed on time.
- Send manpower updates via email at the beginning of each shift, ensuring clear communication of staffing levels, coverage adjustments, and any potential gaps.
- Provide end-of-shift updates, summarizing production performance, key issues, downtime, quality concerns, and any necessary follow-ups for the next shift.
- Coordinate vacation coverage for the opposite shift rotation, ensuring adequate staffing and minimal disruption to production.
- Review production entries in SAP and effectively make corrections when needed.
- Participate in meetings and complete all required safety training.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Assist in cross-training team members to enhance workforce flexibility and skill development.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to support preventative maintenance initiatives.
- Support and engage in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation to improve overall performance.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
- Perform bi-weekly inventory checks on raw materials, ensuring accurate stock levels and reporting discrepancies to the appropriate team members.

Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is preferred, with some knowledge of Microsoft Word/PowerPoint.
