Postdoctoral Research Opportunity: AI-Driven Health Technology Innovation

The Institute for Future Health at the University of California, Irvine, is currently accepting applications for postdoctoral scholar positions. Postdoctoral Scholars contribute to the academic community by enhancing the research and education programs of the University. They bring expertise and creativity that enrich the research environment for all members of the University community, including graduate and undergraduate students.

Position Overview

We are seeking innovative an researcher to join our dynamic team working at the cutting edge of health technology. This position offers the opportunity to develop novel AI-driven solutions for healthcare while collaborating with leading experts in academia and industry.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct research involving the collection, preprocessing, analysis, and visualization of health data to generate AI-driven health insights.

* Conduct research on design and optimization of systems for medical data collection.

* Investigate methods for the management and enhancement of large-scale health and medical datasets.

* Develop and implement novel AI solutions tailored for healthcare challenges.

* Publish research findings in leading peer-reviewed health and medical engineering journals and present at top-tier conferences.

* Engage and collaborate with academic experts, university research groups, industry partners, and government agencies.

* Demonstrate a commitment to mentoring and teaching within the university community.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

* A PhD in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Embedded Electronics, or a closely related field, with a demonstrated focus on Health Technology applications (e.g., health IoT, remote patient monitoring, wearables).

* A strong record of peer-reviewed publications in highly ranked conferences and journals.

* Solid understanding of health monitoring systems, wearables, mobile technology, knowledge-based AI systems, and data management principles.

* Proven experience with machine learning methods and their application.

* Expertise in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C#, or C++.

* Proficiency in software development within a collaborative environment using version control (e.g., Git, GitHub), issue tracking, and code review processes.

* Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
