Your Role With Us:

  • Supervise technicians and assume responsibility for accurate and timely drug distribution.
  • Monitor ongoing therapy and make modifications or recommendations based on patient-specific factors.
  • Provide pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring of aminoglycosides and vancomycin.
  • Document treatment plans and rationales in progress notes.
  • Maintain continuing competence through education and self-study.
  • Provide prospective drug use evaluation and medication counseling per OBRA '90 and Board of Pharmacy statutes/rules.
  • Serve as a liaison to nursing units or departments, establishing inventory and par levels.
  • Use interpersonal skills to convey a positive and supportive attitude.
  • Demonstrate dependability, sound judgment, and excellence in patient care and teamwork.
  • Use hospital resources appropriately and work productively during shifts.
  • Participate in professional enhancement activities and special projects during downtime.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with coworkers, hospital staff, patients, and physicians.
  • Show initiative and take responsibility in dealing with interpersonal conflict resolution.
  • Offer constructive feedback and accept feedback to improve professional practice.
  • Participate in department committees and decision-making activities.
  • Assume supportive roles in the absence of a manager/supervisor.
  • Serve patients across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, pre-school, school-age, adolescents, adults, and older adults.

    Background/Expertise:

    • Doctor of Pharmacy degree required upon hire or within 90 days of hire required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 60 days of hire required.
    • Licensed Pharmacist (licensed in Oregon by October 1 of the residency year, unless appeal process is warranted) required.
    • Mentor and assist in leading Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy students, and pharmacy interns
    • Willingness to learn acute care pharmacy and teach pharmacy students
    • Ability to offer and accept constructive feedback
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of pharmacy computer systems
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of Oregon and Federal laws governing pharmacy practice
    • Strong skills in Microsoft Office
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with peers, other healthcare professionals, and the public
