Job Overview

The Financial Analyst for Procurement and Visual Business Office is responsible for determining and realizing enterprise-wide cost savings and efficiency opportunities through analysis of supply purchasing activity and making recommendations to best support procurement efforts. This role is responsible for ensuring purchasing process and expense are aligned to and on plan with established budgets through preparation of monthly financial forecasts, analyzing and reporting accurate financial information.

Essential Functions



  • Lead the Annual/Seasonal planning process for procurement. Leverage analytics to identify opportunities for cost savings. Collaborate with Visual Business Office management, Macy's Supply Chain, and other teams to develop strategies to maximize revenue and identify expense investment initiatives. Provide guidance in season to ensure established budgets are achieved.
  • Prepare and analyze the expense plans and monthly forecast guidance. Provide commentary to significant variances to plan, follow up with key business partners to understand variances, and seek ways to mitigate expense liabilities and exploit opportunities. Ensure all forecast components are accurately reflected in OneStream in line with corporate deadlines.
  • Facilitate the monthly financial close process including processing journal entries, accruals, and reclasses. Maintain strict documentation in compliance with audit policies.
  • Analyze company spend patterns to identify risks and opportunities to drive bottom line results. Proactively partner with internal customers to discover sourcing opportunities, uncover new/diverse suppliers, run sourcing events, and meet yearly sourcing targets.
  • Manage Bloomingdale's procurement catalog: identify similar items purchased by multiple teams that can be consolidated to leverage purchasing power; identify and remove obsolete inventory items from the supply catalogs.
  • Facilitate training for both central and store team personnel on all applicable procurement systems.


Qualifications and Competencies



  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • 1-2 years related experience
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Highly proficient in Excel, ability to write VBA code a plus
  • Experience with Oracle systems, OneStream platforms and SQL a plus
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
