Job Description
High-Level Scope: * Accept, Inventory, Discard Trash: Manage incoming items, inventory them, and discard any trash. * Label: Apply labels (provided by us) to items. * Bundle: Group cables of the same type with identical endpoint locations (schedule provided). * Rough-In: Perform rough-in tasks according to provided pull schedules. * Plug-in/Patch: Connect cables using provided port maps and schedules. * Dress: Ensure cables are neatly arranged, pin-straight, properly layered, and organized within racks as per client specifications. Responsibilities: * Provide timely support for requests within the data center, including servers, network equipment, racking, provisioning power to new rack installations, and data cabling. * Offer hands-on support for problem resolution. * Monitor, resolve, and update all Operations-assigned service tickets during your shift, including trouble tickets and customer installations of electrical and physical equipment. * Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems. * Install network structured cabling and other infrastructure components. * Monitor and react to alert/alarm conditions generated by the building management system. * Troubleshoot problems with IT hardware, servers, and switches. * Run patch cables between IT equipment. * Install or deinstall IT hardware in racks. * Communicate and collaborate with network and systems teams. * Set up the infrastructure needed to connect servers and hard drives.
