Position Purpose |
The
Student Transition Programs Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Division of Student Affairs by providing comprehensive logistical and administrative support for key events, including New Student Orientation, Commencement, and divisional award processes. Under the direction of the Director of New Student Programs, the
Coordinator will work collaboratively with campus partners, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the successful execution of these important institutional programs. |

- Two to three years of relevant experience in event planning, program coordination, or a related field, with demonstrated growth in autonomy and responsibility.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing events, including planning, logistics, and on-site execution.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software or technology.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and effectiveness in serving a diverse community, with a strong commitment to inclusivity, equity, and accessibility.
- Commitment to personal and departmental integrity, creativity, collaboration, initiative, and professionalism.
- Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., event management, hospitality, communications).
- Experience with student activities, event planning, and management in a higher education setting.
- Experience coordinating large-scale events.
- Familiarity with website content development and proficiency with communication, social media, and/or graphic design tools.
