The Repurchase Analyst will be responsible for the monitoring and execution of highly time-sensitive recovery, repurchase and contractual obligation activity to support the firm's Residential Mortgage Trading Desks for varied asset classes including agency/non-agency new origination and non-performing/re-performing mortgage loans.

Responsibilities:



  • Play a pivotal role working with clients, multiple trading desks, legal counsel, compliance experts, and business line peers to ensure timely resolution of inbound and outbound repurchase demand activity
  • Collaborate with teammates to provide consistent, accurate, and timely reporting to counterparties and key stakeholders
  • Create and maintain documentation for assigned processes in alignment with the Firm's guidelines
  • Oversee the complete repurchase cycle including claim validation, initiating the demand, funding and final resolution
  • Manage workflows and queue assignments to ensure contractual obligations are met within the timelines dictated
  • Use business and analytical skills to draw information from loan documentation, transaction agreements, and servicing data or systems to formulate a concise and succinct fact-based summary of the repurchase demand and/or appeal
  • Input data/information into a comprehensive database that tracks repurchases.
  • Schedule and lead routine conference calls/communication with assigned clients and maintain strong relationships
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned


Requirements:



  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex models into actionable insights
  • General knowledge of Capital Markets, Servicing, Secondary Market Function, Mortgage Loan Origination Process, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy and Title Insurance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Very strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders including peers, servicers and vendors, clients and the trading desk.
  • Strong self-confidence, good judgment, sense of urgency, sound decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and analytic skills
