Job Description:

Respiratory Director-Full-Time

  • Coordinates and supervises direct patient care activities including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Coordinates, supervises and is responsible for the care of patients on the nursing units/areas during his/her tour of duty.
  • Plans, directs, coordinates, implements, and evaluates patient care
  • Assist with development of budget for Respiratory Care. Supervises the total environment; interacts with all other managers/departments; and contributes to the overall policy and procedure development, education and management of Respiratory Care Services
  • Has adequate knowledge to approach pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients for the purpose of required patient care abilities with techniques appropriate to the individual's chronological, emotional, cognitive and physical maturation level
  • Functions include: 1) assessments of patients, utilizing physical and psychosocial assessment skills, diagnostic data and medical evaluations; (2) evaluation of effectiveness of patient care as related to patient goals; (3) All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of a two or four year AMA approved degree program
  • Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Must have a current Active certification from the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care (KBRC).
  • Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required. Active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AACR) is preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of Respiratory Care supervision experience desired
  • Must be able to supervise all clinical and non-clinical personnel.
  • Must establish/maintain good relations with hospital staff, patients, their families, visitors and the public
