Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

At First Citizens Bank, our commitment to data integrity and governance is foundational to how we serve our clients and manage risk. We are seeking a Data Management Consultant to join our growing Enterprise Data Office. This role will play a key part in managing data defects, supporting business partners in adhering to data governance policies and standards, and delivering insightful reporting to drive continuous improvement across the enterprise.


Responsibilities

Data Defect Management - Supports identification, prioritization and cataloging of data defects and issues for remediation.

  • Track, assess, and oversee resolution of data-related defects across business lines.
  • Partner with technology and data stewards to identify root causes and drive timely remediation.
  • Maintain clear documentation and reporting for defect tracking, including metrics and trends.

Business Support - Enforces data management policies and standards across the Partners with Business Units to ensure required attributes and defect management processes are followed.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business units, providing guidance on data management policies and data quality standards.
  • Support business stakeholders in implementing best practices and achieving compliance with enterprise data governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with data stewards, custodians, and governance teams to promote consistent data management practices.

Reporting - Creates and maintains key data governance metrics used to ensure awareness and transparency as well as to drive consistent

  • Develop and maintain routine and ad hoc reports related to data quality, defect remediation, and policy adherence.
  • Use tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau to create clear and actionable reporting dashboards.
  • Translate data insights into recommendations that support informed decision-making across business and technical teams

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Data Management, Financial Analysis, or similar OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Data Management, Financial Analysis, or similar

Understanding of data warehousing and transformation methods, lineage documentation, and ETL processes, Knowledge of data spreadsheets and databases, Understanding of Base SAS programming, SAS Enterprise Guide, Cognos, or related programs, IBM InfoSphere Information Management suite or similar

The base pay for this position is generally between $110,000 and $160,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
