Job Summary: The Automation Specialist is responsible for working closely with customers and collaborating with internal teams to provide the customer expert product support and provide optimal products and solutions. Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain comprehensive product knowledge, including features, benefits, and applications across various platforms.
- Provide pre-sales support to customers including: review of customer project specifications and documents, preparing and presenting bills of materials, proof of concepts, performance tests, and properly sizing and recommending components to solve application requirements.
- Provide post-sales support to customers including: assisting with customer technical product issues, implementation troubleshooting, product training, and escalating issues to appropriate vendor partners if necessary.
- Perform gap analysis to identify target customers for specific products and pursue those opportunities.
- Utilize the customer relationship manager (CRM) tool to log and manage customer opportunities, tasks, customer interactions, and support responses from customers.
- Collaborate with Account Managers, Business Consultants, and Solution Consultants in opportunity pursuits by defining the best products for the identified solution architecture.
- Proactively facilitate and provide product-based training to internal teams including Sales and Customer Experience
- Proactively provide customers relevant information on new products and technology related to their industry and application needs.
- Analyze competitive product lines and communicate competitive product differentiators for customers.
- Deliver Werner billable services including: installed base evaluations, network assessments, drive startups, and vulnerability discovery surveys, field services, and technical training.
- Participate in relevant trade shows and events.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel regularly through assigned territory. Some overnight travel is required.
- Associate's degree in Automation, Engineering, Computer Science or other related field; AND
- 1-3 years of relevant experience is required.
- 5 years' of related experience required in lieu of a degree.
- Previous experience working directly with customers is required.
- Ability to stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience delivering presentations and demonstrations.
- Previous experience working with a customer relations management (CRM) software preferred.
- Previous experience managing and self-directing workload
- Prior experience working as field service technician is a plus
