Job Description Summary

The Role of Maintenance Technician is to provide a variety of facility support functions and duties, minor repairs and maintenance needs, unskilled painting needs, physical inspections of the facilities and premises, and other related duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

* Under the direction and supervision of a facility manager, conduct minor repairs to the facilities and premises as assigned including painting, patching, office and kitchen equipment, furniture, walls, ceiling tiles, carpeting, floor tiles, etc.

* Perform Preventive Maintenance, troubleshooting, basic repairs, adjustments and installations to commercial building systems.

* Schedule and direct work to be done by outside contractors as directed by facility manager * Cleanup of equipment in mechanical rooms and shop * Miscellaneous handy man work requiring limited use of hand tools * Cleaning of vents and roof drains * Setup conference areas for events and meetings * Install and move furniture in office spaces

Requirements

* Willingness to learn new skills

* Proactive and hard working

* Ability to communicate and respond effectively to key stakeholders on project status * Proficient with computers (Office Suite) * Must be willing to work a rotating "On Call" schedule which requires 24/7 response availability * High school diploma or GED

Physical Requirements

* Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position including bending, squatting, stretching, climbing ladders and lifting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis * On occasion, may be required to lift items weighing 50 to 100 pounds * Must be able to read and follow written manuals and SOP's

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
