We are expanding our Maintenance Team and are looking for dedicated Wastewater Treatment Operators for our 2nd and 3rd shifts. If you're detail-oriented, hands-on, and ready to work in a dynamic environment, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your career with a well-established company.

As a Wastewater Treatment Operator, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and operating wastewater systems, ensuring that all operations run smoothly while adhering to environmental and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:


  • Monitor and operate wastewater equipment including clarifiers, pH neutralization systems, oil separators, DAF systems, and batch reactors



  • Perform daily lab tests (pH, settleable solids), keep accurate logs, and report results



  • Assist with filter press operations and proper handling/disposal of solids



  • Coordinate required testing with local municipalities



  • Schedule pickups for residual waste (starch, oil, etc.)



  • Maintain sanitation of all wastewater treatment areas and equipment



  • Perform basic maintenance with support from the maintenance team



  • Follow all food safety and quality control protocols (SQF standards)




Requirements:


  • 2+ years of experience in wastewater operations


  • Mechanical experience in some capacity, preferably on production machinery.

  • Experience with DAF systems or similar treatment systems



  • Knowledge of local/city wastewater requirements is preferred



  • Wastewater Operator certification preferred (extra compensation offered if already certified), or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.




    • The company will cover certification costs if obtained post hire.





  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required



  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and operate a forklift



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)



  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English



  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately



  • Willingness to work regular overtime and participate in a rotating on-call schedule



  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors with hot/cold temperatures, wet/slippery floors, and weather and chemical exposure.

  • Requires knowledge and skills in electrical, mechanical, and electronic applications acquired through 3-5 years of experience.
  • Able to read and work from blueprints, drawings, work orders and electrical schematics.
  • Requires the ability to troubleshoot and repair all types of equipment quickly and independently.

  • Report equipment conditions to Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assist to complete production by working in the line as instructed by Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintain inventories of tools and supplies.
  • Maintain shop area clean and organized.
  • Perform any other duties as required by Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain complete plant cleanliness. Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with demonstrated ability troubleshooting process related issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with staff and others contacted in the course of the work.
  • Ability to think and work effectively under pressure and accurately complete tasks within established times.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadline.
