The salary range for this job posting is $43,950.00 - $88,210.00 annually + bonus + benefits. Pay Type: Hourly

Preferred candidates will work a hybrid schedule out of our Columbus, Ohio or Charleston, WV office.

We may hire a different job level [Benefits Coordinator or Benefits Specialist] depending on the candidate's background and experience and the posting salary range is inclusive of both roles.

The role will report to the Manager, Benefits.

Job Profile Summary
The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day support and coordination of group benefit programs including health, dental, vision, income protection, life insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, spending accounts, and leave of absence administration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide timely and accurate assistance to associates, retirees, and external partners regarding benefits questions, claims, and enrollment processes.
  • Coordinate and process benefits changes resulting from new hires, life events, transfers, terminations, leaves of absence, and retirements, ensuring updates are reflected accurately with Payroll, benefit carriers, and HRIS systems.
  • Participate in the preparation and delivery of new hire benefits orientation and annual open enrollment activities.
  • Oversee the wellness program, including measuring and improving the health status of associates and their families. Further develop and promote utilization of the vendor portal and wellness-related resources.
  • Support the administration of leave programs including FMLA, short-term and long-term disability.
  • Monitor eligibility and enrollment data, process invoices, and ensure accurate payments for assigned benefit plans.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Cross-train and provide back-up support across the benefits team as needed.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and enhancement of benefits communications, tools, and resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, demonstrated significant professional or human resources experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Prior experience with benefits administration and employee support is strongly preferred.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, CBP) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits regulations including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and FMLA preferred.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms; Workday experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
