Executive Service EXECUTIVE ADMIN ASSISTANT 2 - LEGISLATIVE LIAISON Department of Children's Services Office of the Commissioner Nashville, TN Salary: $5591.00 - $7253.00 per month Closing Date: 04/21/2025Background Check: This position requires a criminal background check. Job Overview: This classification is responsible for professional staff work of average to complex difficulty in relieving an Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, or Commissioner of administrative detail. An employee in this class may perform liaison, public contact, public relations, and/or other administrative assistance work. This work often requires an incumbent to handle difficult decisions, personal contacts, and staff analysis. This classification may directly supervise subordinate positions. This class differs from that of an Executive Admin Assistant 3 in that an incumbent of the latter performs work of greater scope and/or complexity. Key Responsibilities: Assist in managing the departments legislative package to enhance and advance DCS mission. During legislative session, monitor and track daily legislation that directly or may directly impact the operations of DCS using TN Tracks and TLS. Assist the Director of Legislation to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements. Manage rulemaking projects to assist the Department in promulgating new rules and revising administrative rules as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of full-time professional staff administrative experience or related work. Preferred experience: Licensed attorney or law school graduate.
