Sleep Technician I - PRN

Job Summary

  • Explain procedures to the patient, collects necessary paper work, monitors and records study.
  • Applies the international 10-20 System of Electrodes, polysomnography set-up, oximeter calibration, and set-up of ancillary equipment.
  • Record review of polysomnograms is an integral part of the job.
  • Reviews clinical competencies for procedures, equipment and documentation
  • Evaluates and administered polysomnography studies with supervision, through application of international 10-20 System.
  • Identification of sleep stages, apneic respiratory events and periodic leg movements.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Some experience in medical field preferred.

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)

Licensure/Certification

  • Employee must obtain sleep tech II position within 12 months of hire date, and gain RPSGT within 2 years of hire.
  • Basic cardiac life support (BCLS), continuing education in sleep diagnostic required per state regulations, accrediting organization or as determined by clinical education coordinator, valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Compensation/Benefits

  • $13.74-$22.44/hr depending on previous work experience.
  • An additional $3.00/hr shift differential available for working night shifts.
