Description
We are hiring a Financial Controller to support our Accounting and Finance Team at Designtex. In this pivotal role, you will ensure financial integrity through precise reporting, meticulous accounting oversight, team leadership and compliance excellence. You'll collaborate closely with leaders and teams across the organization, providing financial insights that support key business decisions. If you excel in maintaining accuracy, driving collaboration, and delivering reliable financial data, we'd love to have you on board.
This role can be located in New York City or Secaucus, New Jersey.
Who You Are:
You are a finance professional who takes a comprehensive approach to accounting and financial management. Beyond technical expertise in accounting and reporting, you have a bias for action, an intense curiosity, and the ability to navigate complexity with confidence. Your resourcefulness and tenacity help you identify solutions, drive efficiency, and maintain accuracy, all with a "can do" attitude that ensures financial integrity and business success.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Five to eight years of corporate accounting experience, displaying progressively increasing responsibilities.
  • Experience in managing, coaching, developing, and mentoring a team with a strong emphasis on leadership, skill-building, and fostering professional growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and work within a variety of software applications (ERP, reporting tools, etc.), with a strong adaptability to new systems and processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • CPA, CMA or MBA
  • Prior experience with Epicor, SAP, XL Connect, Spreadsheet Server (Insight Software), Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both internal and external customers and convey information clearly and concisely across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships across the organization, fostering collaboration and trust, while leveraging these partnerships to navigate challenges and implement effective solutions within a complex global environment.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting/finance teams ensuring a well-rounded and resilient team structure.
  • Lead the accounting close process while contributing to the analysis of financial performance against budget and prior periods and oversee financial reporting to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Serve as a resource and troubleshooter by providing expert support within the department and collaborating cross-functionally to identify and resolve challenges, ensuring seamless operations and fostering a problem-solving culture across the organization.
  • Enhance financial systems and processes to maximize efficiency, accuracy and to streamline operations.
  • Conduct high-level financial analyses while actively collaborating with other departments to support their analytical needs, fostering strong business partnerships, and providing requested reporting to drive informed decision-making across the organization.
