Job Purpose

To effectively plan and manage Mining Technology Solutions Autonomous Systems business development within global strategy, standards and policies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement effective learning solutions for delivery in classroom, web-based, and blended learning environments.
  • Apply an instructional design process that includes audience analysis, job task analysis, development of curriculum maps, storyboards, flowcharts, performance objectives, assessment tools, and learning activities.
  • Utilize the Learning Management System to develop and integrate course materials, employing its features to enhance interactive learning experiences.
  • Develop and integrate assessment plans and tools within the learning management systems to support outcome achievement and evaluate instructional effectiveness.
  • Analyze existing materials (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, technical documentation such as equipment operator guides and Wiki pages) to determine content relevance and integrate findings into project development.
  • Create and edit learning materials, including scripts, facilitator guides, participant guides, eLearning solutions, videos, job aids, and presentations.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify content areas for development, recommend improvements to program materials, and ensure content validity and engagement strategies. This includes working independently and as part of a team to meet project needs, objectives, and timelines.
  • Utilize project management skills to scope projects, break down tasks, estimate times, and manage delivery deadlines in support of product releases.
  • Employ digital communication tools such as Microsoft 365 for email, chat, and audio/video conferencing to enhance collaboration and ensure effective communication across the online business environment.
  • Regularly use tools to assess and report on the effectiveness of training modules.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by maintaining records and applying standard procedures.
  • Provide constructive feedback within the team and actively contribute to meeting project goals.
  • Take initiative in small group settings and support continuous learning and process improvement.

Required Skills

  • 2-3 years of experience in instructional design or a closely related field. Experience with Learning Management Systems and e-learning development tools.
  • Occasional travel may be required, up to 10-15% to attend workshops, trainings, or coordinate with external teams.
  • Understanding of instructional design principles and Adult Learning Theory.
  • Proficiency with visual design, audio and video editing tools, such as Snagit, Adobe CC products: Photoshop, InDesign, and After Effects.
  • Proficiency in the use of authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline and working knowledge of SCORM.
  • Experience using online course development using instructional design practices and authoring tools.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and across time zones, in a global organization and collaborate with individuals who may not speak your language.
  • Positive attitude and ability to get along well with others in a team atmosphere.
  • Exceptional work ethic, track-record of personal initiative and time management skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to new programs, systems, and processes in an evolving and technology-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify training needs, create solutions, and organize complex information.
  • Keen attention to detail, strong written/oral communication, and excellent organization skills.

Desired Skills

  • Master's degree in Instructional Design or related field
  • Experience designing aesthetically pleasing and appropriately scaffolded online or blended courses for adult learners.
  • Knowledge of Instructional Design methodology and Adult Learning Theory.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts and engineers.
  • Experience working as part of a global team.
  • Familiarity using virtual technology and remote tools, such as VMware and Remote Desktop.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or Portuguese
  • Mining industry knowledge
  • Experience working in an LMS environment (such as Brightspace).
