The Opportunity: The University of Central Florida's (UCF) Institute for Simulation and Training (IST) is conducting a search for a DevOps, DevSecOps & Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure for digital twin applications. This role is responsible for managing deployment pipelines, cloud infrastructure, real-time data integration, and system security. The ideal candidate will collaborate with software engineers, AI/ML specialists, and systems engineers to ensure reliable and high-performing digital twin operations. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and system updates. Manage cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and high availability of digital twin applications. Develop and enforce DevSecOps best practices, including security monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and compliance enforcement. -Build and maintain data pipelines for real-time data ingestion, processing, and integration into digital twin systems. Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement optimizations for efficiency and reliability. Collaborate with AI/ML engineers and software developers to ensure seamless integration of models and data workflows. Automate infrastructure provisioning and system management using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools. Research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance deployment, security, and data processing capabilities. Write and maintain documentation on deployment processes, security policies, and data management strategies. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and automation. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and infrastructure management. Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or Terraform. Experience with real-time data processing and data pipeline development. Understanding of security best practices, encryption, and compliance frameworks. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architecture. Familiarity with event-driven data processing and streaming technologies (Kafka, Apache Flink, or similar). Knowledge of machine learning model deployment and MLOps practices. Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible. Strong background in monitoring and observability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
