Purpose

The Senior Real Estate Officer reports directly to the Director of Real Estate for the university and will provide material support for real estate activities including lease negotiations and management, project support, acquisitions, asset management, and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with UT stakeholders, outside brokers, and other relevant parties for the leasing of space and the management of an assigned commercial real estate portfolio, including the monitoring of income producing real property assets and the reconciliation of operating expenses for leased properties.
  • Perform due diligence for leases, acquisitions, and project development, including obtaining bids and ordering title commitments, title surveys, environmental assessments, and appraisals.
  • Assist in the procurement of entitlements, including easements, right of way agreements, and license agreements with the City of Austin, utility providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide real estate support for the project development and asset management of various UT owned and P3 projects, including the preparation of reports related to UT held assets.
  • Serve as a liaison between office and school departments, UT System, developers, city offices, and project stakeholders, and ensure compliance with U.T. System rules and policies as they relate to the designated portfolio.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Real Estate Development, Business, Finance, or similar. Minimum of ten years of commercial real estate experience, which may include commercial leasing, project management, asset management, commercial/multifamily property management, property development. Proficiency with commercial real estate documents; including title, surveys, and entitlements. Knowledge of RFP and RFP processes. Familiarity with County property records and taxing authorities. Ability to create and edit maps and images for informational support. A collaborative attitude with strong organizational and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of State and local statues and regulations. Knowledge of public university operations. P3 experience. Familiarity with development and construction practices.

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range

$120,000 + depending on qualifications
