Job Summary: The Director of Credit Risk will be responsible for identifying, assessing, measuring, and managing commercial credit risk on a global scale for both prospective and existing customers. This role is responsible for making decisions and recommendations on creditworthiness of customers. Comprehensive commercial credit underwriting and monitoring is a critical for this position. Focusing on evaluating customer creditworthiness and understanding potential losses from non-payment of working capital and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming credit requests by collaborating with the Commercial team, Sales Operations, VP of Finance, and CFO.
  • Gather and analyze data to evaluate customer credit needs.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for managing new customer decisions, leveraging best practices and new data/tools.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for strategic initiatives to enhance the company's credit culture and business performance.
  • Conduct quantitative analyses on risk management data to provide insights, credit recommendations, and approve limits for customers.
  • Perform ongoing credit analysis to ensure timely monitoring of credit risk, minimizing credit/operating losses and protecting the company's reputation and compliance.
  • Escalate issues and emerging risks in line with the company's risk appetite framework.
  • Communicate proactively with operations and the Commercial team regarding customer credit concerns and participate in problem-solving.
  • Participate in upgrading the company's credit system and monitoring tools, including automated notification processes for identified risks and issues.
  • Develop and report on credit risk metrics (e.g., KRIs and KPIs) to continuously monitor and oversee credit risk.
  • Work with customers to understand their business strategies, financial status, and outlook as part of the credit evaluation process.
  • Continuously enhance the company's risk appetite framework related to credit.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • A high level of executive presence and professionalism is required.
  • 10-12 years of credit risk experience, including 3-5 years in a credit leadership role.
  • Proven experience in building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership.
  • Strong business acumen with a risk-reward control perspective.
  • Expertise in data-driven analytics, including the analysis of structured and unstructured data.
  • Familiarity with commercial credit regulatory considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred
