Job Summary

Automation Technician Journeyman directs crew, troubleshoots, operates, maintains and repairs distribution automation devices.

Essential Functions

• Under the direction of the supervisor or Head Journeyman, assist in leading daily activities of the crew including other journeyman and apprentices.
• Be responsible for the daily tailboard briefing as well as turning in an accurate time sheet.
• Be responsible for safe work environment for himself and his crew.
• Provide on the job training and instruction as needed. Work on all the distribution automation devices necessary.
• Apply settings, maintain, troubleshoot protective relaying, and test all devices.
• Knowledge to change out batteries, infrared, download relays, troubleshoot electronics via schematic and send settings.

Education Description

Must have Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronics or Electrical Technology or 60 credit hours of formal accredited training in electrical, electronics, engineering, or related technical discipline or two years of the same work-related experience to offset the education.

Experience

Must have successfully completed three years apprentice training program and havea dvanced to a journeyman
