Your Tasks:
This role is responsible for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of project management processes while also ensuring high standards in technical documentation. In addition, this position will also drive collaboration, oversee KPIs, and provide strategic guidance to improve project execution and documentation workflows. This role will also build and lead a high-performing team, ensuring their development, effectiveness and collaboration, within Application Development and across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead the overall development and efficiency of project management within the Application Development team.
  • Directly supports the department head with development, communication and execution of strategic programs and projects to advance the business needs.
  • Oversee client relations and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and collaboration effectiveness.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying and resolving inefficiencies to enhance overall function and efficiency.
  • Develop, refine, and improve documentation standards to maintain consistency and clarity and ensure alignment with marketing and collaborative project needs.
  • Generate and implement new documentation systems, ensuring they support automated and streamlined processes.
  • Build and lead a skilled team, fostering a positive work culture, and develop a diverse staff of highly capable employees.
  • Provide technical communication support for the team, ensuring clarity and accessibility of information.
  • Step into projects when needed to support team members, including covering for absences and handling spill-over workloads.
  • Work closely with project managers (PMs) and technical writers to maintain high standards of project execution and documentation quality.
  • Implement strategies to improve how projects move forward, ensuring they meet organizational and client needs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.


Requirements:



  • Master's Degree Cell Biology, Immunology, Hematology, Molecular Biology, or similar scientific field required; Ph.D. preferred; 5+ years of work experience in the R&D or pharmaceutical/healthcare industry with 3 years supervisor experience; Or a combination of education and experience.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in project management, with a strong focus on team development and efficiency improvement.
  • Proven experience in people management and talent development, building high-performing, effective and collaborative teams.


Knowledge:



  • Strong understanding of documentation standards, technical writing, and automated documentation processes.
  • Ability to track and analyze KPIs to drive project success.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical teams, marketing, and client relations.
  • Adaptability to step into projects when needed and support team members in high-demand situations.


Skills:



  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to refine processes and enhance productivity.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature controlled, handicap-accessible facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in an office environment. This job also requires the person to be mobile to visit customer sites, vendor shows, and demonstrations. Due to the travel requirements, this position may be exposed to natural elements of nature. Used research/clinical equipment may be handled in this job and strict SOPs and PPE must be worn. All persons performing this job will receive appropriate training prior to engaging in work requiring PPE or SOP procedures.

For candidates based in San Diego, CA, the anticipated base salary range has been established at $118, 200 - $159,900/year. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above salary ranges represent the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, plus a 401(k) plan. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
