Job Description

***Temporary placement/seasonal role***

Timeframe: 3 months

Job Summary: Level one shipping/receiving clerks working under direct supervision to complete basic shipping and receiving tasks such as creating shipping documentation, make freight arrangements, bill of ladings, commercial invoices, bar-codes, answering phones and track shipments. As required loading and unloading trucks with forklift, verifying packaging slips and order contents, performing visual inspection, as well as packaging product for either outside processing or finished goods.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate basic packaging skills such as part protection, verify packaging information, boxing, taping, wrapping, stenciling, banding, weighing, etc.
  • Operate a forklift and will be certified on job
  • Receives product from outside vendors
  • Verifies parts through visual inspection
  • Assists in unloading product as needed
  • Builds boxes and places finished or in process components in protective packaging for preventing handling damage during transport
  • Reviews documentation for accurate information and records in both receiving and shipping
  • Creates shipping documentation and labels and ensures accuracy of data
  • Sets packaging standard as required
  • Track shipments
  • Make freight arrangements
  • Bill of ladings
  • Commercial invoices
  • Answering phones and email correspondence
  • Other duties as assigned

Required education / experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with shipping online services: FedEx, UPS and Freight carriers
  • Experience with sit down forklift
  • Strong cross functional team and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge using Excel
  • Intermediate knowledge using MRP/ERP system (preferably Oracle)
  • Detail oriented, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Preferred requirements:

  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $16.00 to $23.75 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
