Job Description

Quality Assurance Technical Editor & Certification Specialist Supervisor Summary:

This position is responsible for quality auditing, quality training and assuring products and processes meet required customer and internal quality standards and requirements. This position is responsible for supervising Tech Edit and Certification and will also have responsibility for the Quality information system, as the site representative.

Essential Functions

Supervising the Certification Specialists and Technical Editors.

Responsible for Order Entry/Order Acknowledgement and the final Product Certification and any key metrics involved.

Effectively communicate company and department goals, achievements, problems, solutions, practices, changes and policies. Encourage positive communication. Enforce all company policies, rules and regulations.

Site Subject Matter Expert for site Quality databases. Will liaison with other TIMET sites and TIMET UK and help develop new modules and test existing modules.

Lead auditor of department paperwork and process for conformance to all quality requirements.

Be involved with Pyrometry and Furnace Surveys from a QA standpoint.

Lead quality training efforts in department (administrative and operational teams).

Participate in external customer quality audits.

Participate and support Quality Assurance in any accreditation audits. ISO/AS etc.

Day to day presence/leader and enforcement of quality procedures, processes and product quality in each department.

Documentation of all product quality audits performed via TIMET Quality Information System electronic audit module.

Support quality related efforts, in conjunction within outside conversion representatives, with outside converters as needed.

Support Operations, Metallurgy, Continuous Improvement, and Logistics on any quality related efforts/training.

Additional Responsibilities

Must be willing to work overtime to ensure that projects are implemented on a timely basis.

Qualifications

Competencies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, assertive personality, strong organizational skills, proficient with multi-tasking priorities. Eagerness to work in a fast paced, team oriented, quality oriented, results driven company. Ability to manage high workloads. Must be self driven.

Education and Experience

Four year Bachelors degree, Science or Engineering related field preferred; 5 years minimum Quality Assurance related experience in an industrial metals manufacturing environment.

Special Skills

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Requires excellent computer skills and easily adaptable to different computer software systems.
