Quality Operations Digital Solutions Lead

The Quality Operations Digital Solutions Owner is responsible for overseeing the implementation and optimization of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) within the quality lab of a seed production company. This role combines strategic product ownership with technical development expertise to enhance seed production, quality control, and research initiatives. The Solutions Owner will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the LIMS platform aligns with business objectives and industry standards.

Duties:

• Collaborate with the IT Quality Lead to define and maintain the strategic direction and roadmap for the LIMS platform.
• Align LIMS functionalities with seed production workflows, ERP systems (SAP ECC and S4/HANA), and business goals.
• Gather and prioritize requirements for LIMS enhancements from stakeholders.
• Manage the product backlog and develop user stories for new features and improvements.
• Design and build custom solutions within the chosen LIMS using relevant programming languages and technologies.
• Implement and customize LIMS modules for seed sample management and testing workflows.
• Create and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and interfaces tailored to seed testing needs.
• Integrate LIMS with other seed production systems and laboratory instruments.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in software development.
• Coordinate training programs for LIMS users across various seed production disciplines.
• Collaborate with IT teams to manage LIMS deployments, upgrades, and maintenance.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the seed industry (e.g., AOSCA, ISTA, seed certification standards).
• Familiarity with LIMS architecture, APIs, and integration capabilities.
• Knowledge of seed testing methods and molecular breeding techniques.
• Understanding of database design and optimization for LIMS applications.
• Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in product management and software development, preferably with LIMS platforms in the seed industry.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycles.
• Experience configuring and customizing LIMS platforms (such as LabVantage, LabWare, or Thermo Fisher Scientific) for seed production environments.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
