Job Purpose

North American Data Analytics Unit's mission is to identify and resolve field quality problems quickly to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain quality competitiveness. Our Data Engineers review multiple data sources to evaluate, summarize and draw conclusions to identify trends that lead to countermeasure activity.

Key Accountabilities

Use engineering fundamentals to identify problems through various data sources (Warranty, Telematics, Customer Relations, NHTSA, Surveys, etc.)

Look for data trends not previously identified through deep understanding of the data

Support cleaning data to ensure proper classification of market problems

Transform data using SQL, Python, etc to identify trends that lead to actionable problems and defend analysis to promote for countermeasure activity

Generate groupings to support identification and classification of market problems

Utilize modelling, statistics, and trend analysis to forecast future failure rates for known problems

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

BS in Engineering, Data analytics, Mathematics, Economics or Computer Science, with strong engineering aptitude or equivalent experience

Minimum of 5 years in data analytics or information analysis

Strong problem-solving skills to ensure data is correct and defend your data analysis to guarantee the responsible areas accept the results.

Strong communication skills (written, verbal and visual) to ensure your analysis is clearly understood.

Excellent attention to detail

Proficient using query languages such as SQL.

Experienced in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)

Prioritization skills to manage workload and make sound decisions.

Experience with common data science toolkits such as R, Python & NumPy

Knowledge of data gathering, cleaning, and transforming techniques

Business intelligence (Qlikview, Qlik Sense, Power BI) programming (desired)

Applied statistics skills such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc. (desired)
