Scope:

The Front-End Engineering Apprentice will receive basic knowledge and skills training to establish a solid foundation for working in the Front-End Engineering department.

The career path will begin in the Data Receipt department, then the Pre-Sales/Quoting Department to gain a basic understanding of the PCB manufacturing industry and product. At a KPIs checkpoint, it will be determined whether the Apprentice is suitable for the CAM department or the Planning department within Front End Engineering.

If the CAM path is designated, the Apprentice will move into NC Rout Programming, then Pre-CAM to learn the foundational skills needed to be successful in the CAM department. If the Planning path is designated, the Apprentice will move into Document Control, then Pre-Planning to learn the foundational skills needed to be successful in the Planning department.

The Apprentice will transition fully into the respective departments, CAM or Planning, and start training to acquire skills needed to become a CAM Operator or a Planner.

Career Path Positions:

  • Data Receipt: Train to develop skills as a Data Receipt Technician responsible for receiving data, processing a data package utilizing computer applications to read in and verify CAM and Blueprint validity needed for manufacturing.

  • Pre-Sales/Quoting: Exposure to pre-sales/quoting team responsible for prioritization and reviewing customer data packages. This includes importing data to run analysis, interpreting technical information and capturing manufacturing requirements by entering attributes into system for quotation.

  • NC Rout Programming: The NC Rout Programmer creates various types of NC programs and instructions to fabricate circuit boards based on internal procedures and instructions and job specific customer requirements.

  • Pre-CAM: The Pre-CAM Operator prepares data from sales order reports, and customer supplied design data files and documents for the CAM Operator to utilize.

  • CAM Operator: CAM Operator runs supplied design data through design rule and design for manufacturability checks per internal procedures and instructions and job specific customer requirements and prepares production data for use in manufacturing of circuit boards.

  • Document Control: A Document Control Clerk is responsible for preparing the job booking documents needed for Planners to create shop travelers.

  • Pre-Planning/Junior Planner role: An individual in this role creates bills of material to order raw material for jobs, create tooling instructions, plan and release repeat jobs and jobs requiring updates and changes to tooling and/or process instructions.

  • Planner: Planner is responsible for reviewing all customer fabrication requirements, job specifications and information, planning the process sequence to fabricate circuits boards to meet desired specifications, resolve any issues with customers and create tooling instructions for CAM.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

Education and Experience:

  • Sophomore in College

  • Associate degree in preferred but not required

  • ITAR Requirements: US Persons (US Citizens or Permanent Resident Card)

  • Academic interests in CAD/Auto CAD, 3D Printing, Photoshop, or Web Design

  • Understanding concepts of designing or building layers/manufacturing process

Work Environment:

  • Fast paced open office environment with surrounding noise and frequent interruptions.

  • Interface with video display terminals. Demand for interaction with varied groups and people and meeting deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:

Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$46,119 - $72,897

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition ofForeign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
