Work Location & Shifts: 299 Mulberry Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm, overtime as needed.

Pay: The hourly pay rate range for this position is $18.11-$ 21.28 + benefits. Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is specific to Mechanicsburg, PA and may not be applicable to other locations.

What your day in this role might involve at OC-BWI Distribution:

The Machine Operator is an integral part of our production team, involved in daily processes and successful outcomes for our facility and its customers. This position works closely with teammates at multiple levels in customizing product, per specs, in preparation for shipment. This position is responsible for machining wooden doors. The ideal candidate will be experienced and qualified to perform a variety of duties related to the production of commercial doors.




  • Operate various types of machines in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to all production schedules and quality standards
  • Perform a daily pre-operation inspection check of the machines to ensure they are ready for use
  • Prepare and setup machines for production to ensure all materials and equipment are ready for operation
  • Conduct quality inspections of produced items to ensure that they meet company standards and customer specifications
  • Work closely with the commercial production team and supervisor to meet production targets and resolve any operational challenges
  • Suggest process improvements and machine adjustments to optimize workflow and efficiency
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Maintain an adequate level of product and machine knowledge
  • Move components and materials safely and report issues to leadership
  • Wear PPE such as composite/steel toed shoes, safety glasses, earplugs, gloves (per job function), and high visibility clothing.



What makes a successful OC-BWI Distribution team member:

Must haves include...



  • High School Diploma or GED and be at least 18 Years Old
  • Minimum of 2+ year of experience operating machines
  • Work safely and follow all plant rules
  • Show initiative, be a self-starter
  • Communicate, in English, in a clear and effective manner
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Work independently, as well as part of a team, and have end of shift flexibility
  • Read a tape measure and do basic math
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Ability to use basic pneumatic, power, and hand tools
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality


Would be terrific if you also had...



  • Preferably one year experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Machine maintenance experience is a plus, but not required



There are some essential physical requirements specific to our work environment, including being able to:



  • Stand for 8 - 10 hours straight
  • Climb and descend stairs/ladder as needed for the role
  • Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 50-pounds)
  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
  • Handle, control and feel raw materials and finished goods
