Job Overview & Responsibilities

  • Performs development, modification, application and maintenance of quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished material products.
  • Collaborates with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place and contractual requirements are properly flowed down to suppliers.
  • Responsible for the implementation of methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment throughout the procurement process.
  • Audits processes, reviews build documentation, and performs physical walk downs of hardware to verify conformance/compliance.
  • Responsible for the control and disposition of nonconforming products, Material Review Board, causal analysis & corrective action, corrective action effectiveness / reliability and documentation, design for manufacturability and inspection planning.
  • Collaborates on the design or specification of inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; supports quality assurance tests; and performs analysis to assess the cost of and determination of responsibility, for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Establishes, expands, and effectively communicates quality data collection and analysis to empower risk management, continuous improvement, and integrated project teams throughout the enterprise.
  • May specialize in the areas of supply chain management, design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, AS9100 auditing, customer engagement, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Minimum of 4 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of industry experience with Quality Engineering as it relates to Product Development, Supply Chain Management, Production, or equivalent
  • Knowledge and understanding or experience with one or more of the following:

    • Composites manufacturing
    • Root Cause Analysis/Cause and Effect Analysis experience
    • Corrective Action-Preventive Action Disciplines
    • Quality metrics development and analysis
    • Contract/SOW generation & review
    • Formal Auditor Training in ISO9000/AS9100
    • Project Management Skills
    • Green Belt training/certification
    • Statistical Process Control (SPC)


  • Ability to lead medium to large, complex, and dynamic projects to successful completion
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Ability to plan and maintain schedule adherence for assigned work scope
  • Ability to work from home, on-site, or at a supplier facility with limited travel (up to 25%)
  • Demonstrated teamwork/interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated group presentation skills
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skill
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., bend, kneel, squat, stoop, work overhead, reach above shoulder level, sit, stand, walk (sometimes on uneven surfaces), and climb.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's degree in an Engineering discipline (Industrial, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering) from an accredited college or university
  • 5-10 years of industry experience in Quality Engineering as it relates to Pedigree Reviews, Product Development, Supply Chain Management, Production, or equivalent
  • Experience working closely with multiple suppliers and customers in a remote or hybrid environment
  • Knowledge and understanding or experience with all the following:

    • Composites manufacturing
    • Quality metrics development and analysis
    • Contract/SOW generation & review
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Corrective Action-Preventive Action Disciplines
    • Cause and Effect Analysis experience
    • Formal Auditor Training in ISO9000/AS9100
    • Project Management Skills
    • Green Belt training/certification
    • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
