Job Overview & Responsibilities

As a Quality Engineer 2 on night shift, you will serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues during overnight operations, following initial training and certification on the day shift. You will support production operations, ensure compliance with quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a high-performance aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Serve as the lead quality contact during overnight operations after completion of training on the day shift.
  • Process nonconformance documentation and perform evaluations to restore product conformity.
  • Review production planning for accuracy and adequacy to ensure quality data is properly captured.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective Actions.
  • Write, issue, and review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Perform planning reviews to ensure inspection needs and requirements are fully addressed.
  • Conduct regular 5S walkdowns to maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other assigned quality-related tasks.
  • May be required to be on-call outside of standard working hours for remote support as needed



Work Schedule:

This role follows a 9/80 night shift schedule:



  • On-Friday Week: Sunday night to Friday morning
  • Off-Friday Week: Sunday night to Thursday morning



Required Education

Bachelor

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 2 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and/or issue resolution, preferably within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
  • Must be able to work day shift (around 6 months) during the training period and transition to night shift upon completion.
  • Abilityto be on-call outside of working hours for remote support as needed.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Material Review Board Experience
  • Background in a production/manufacturing environment, preferablyin the aerospace industry..
  • Experience working in a nonconformance management system
  • Proficiency with SAP
  • Quality inspection experience
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
