Summary: The Assistant Director, Content, supports internal and external communication strategies to drive alumni and donor engagement for Institutional Advancement. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, Marketing and Communications, the Assistant Director is responsible for content development, segmentation, and curation that tells the compelling story of Institutional Advancement, reinforces Temple University's mission, and showcases the achievements of alumni and donors across communication channels. Key responsibilities include writing, building and publishing engaging alumni and donor stories for Temple's Alumni and Donor News Center, Temple Beyond, curating content for the monthly alumni and donor newsletter, helping to set editorial strategy, and providing general marketing communications support for Advancement Engagement. In addition to content development, the Assistant Director will support the Senior Associate Director and Advancement Communications team in project management, coordinating efforts across departments including Annual Giving, Stewardship, Schools and Units, and more, ensuring that cross-functional projects are effectively managed. This role will support communications functions cross-division and across digital and print platforms. The ideal candidate will bring an innovative, adaptable approach to communications and advancement strategies backed with creative thinking, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to support cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will be highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines. The incumbent will have exceptional writing, editing, and strategic thinking skills and will communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with all internal/external constituents. Must be able to provide writing samples/portfolio. A candidate with strong proofreading and quality assurance skills is ideal, along with the ability to follow editorial style guidelines. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications, with an emphasis on digital communications or writing and a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience.
