The ServiceNow Solution Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions to meet the organization's business needs and support all the ITSM processes. This role combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of business processes to ensure seamless integration, automation, and optimization of IT workflows. This role will lead and oversee the successful execution of ServiceNow projects and will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and developers to deliver innovative and scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency and drive digital transformation.
Job Description
- Provide subject matter expertise to lead the implementation of new features and product upgrades, while managing the day-to-day support operations of Horizon BCBSNJ's ServiceNow platform.
- Act as a technical expert in ServiceNow, collaborating with technical teams, business units, stakeholders, and leadership to translate requirements into best-in-class ServiceNow solution implementations.
- Ensure the proper implementation of ServiceNow best practices, standards, and procedures, as well as adherence to the ITIL framework.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations and changes, supporting the entire platform to ensure seamless integration and functionality across the various modules.
- Analyzing technical development requirements and system performance issues while providing documentation and reports.
- Take responsibility for the technical governance and code quality of all solutions deployed to support existing systems. Identify system deficiencies, recommend solutions, and research enhancements and new functionalities in ServiceNow.
- Communicate ideas effectively, explain technical terms to non-technical colleagues, and offer training to end-users.
- Mentor and develop ServiceNow staff through a supportive and collaborative approach: assign responsibilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and monitor and evaluate results.
- Develop a long-term strategy and strategic direction for ServiceNow Services, including the creation of an annual plan.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of current configurations and workflows to create strategies for improvement and further integration using ServiceNow.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Bachelor degree preferred or relevant experience in lieu of degree Industry and project experience of 5+ years with ServiceNow
Additional Licensing, Certifications, Registrations
- Requires ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and Certified Application Developer certifications
- Certified Implementation Specialist certification preferred
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification preferred

Horizon BCBSNJ employees must live in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut or Delaware Salary Range: $108,000 - $147,420
This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
