Kodak is looking for an experienced leader with supervisory and technical knowledge. This position will be part of a team that operates a production-scale, Polyester manufacturing facility at the Eastman Business Park in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with manufacturing leadership and processes. The position will require developing a strong relationship with the operations team leaders to provide the best support possible to the shop floor.
The principle responsibilities for this position are to: (1) provide leadership for day-to-day manufacturing support (resources, mentoring, some technical troubleshooting) , (2) drive continuous improvement on the machine floor, (3) seek out new talent to strengthen leadership and ensure continued success for the operations team, (4) interface with upstream and downstream departments as film and materials move from one operation to another, (5) participate in multidisciplinary teams to support business initiatives, and (6) team leadership
Job Responsibilities include:
Safety
* Actively participates in safety and environmental initiatives.
* Ensures the safety of all employees - procedural adherence, safety reviews, change management.
* Proactive in finding and implementing improvements to reduce the risk of safety and environmental incidents.
Supervision/Leadership
* Understands, communicates & enforces company policies and procedures.
* Ensures that each direct report has been trained appropriately for their current assignment.
* Provides clear expectations, coaches & conducts periodic performance reviews (direct reports)
* Ensures and reinforces teamwork across operations, engineering, and skilled trades at all levels.
Performance & Activities
* Reinforces the quality policy by actively suggesting and implementing improvements to products, processes, people, and services.
* Participates in daily Morning Markets and verifies that all required performance metrics and action items are appropriately completed/addressed.
* Works with operations to identify and resource key projects and activities to support business metrics, drive improvement and assure long-term sustainability of the operation.
* Conducts required audits and confirmation checks.
* Benchmarks and works with other equivalent department personnel to identify improvement opportunities.
* Acts as a mentor and trainer for others.
* Is familiar with metrics and takes appropriate action to assure metrics meet goal level.
* Participates in business strategy planning and decision-making.
Skills/Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in physical sciences preferred
* 5+ years supervisory experience; strong conflict resolution skills
* Technological background/experience
* Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Good team player and willing to learn
* Good written and verbal communication
* Able to support a 24/7 Operation
