Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Dietary Assistant.
In this role, the successful candidate Performs a variety of administrative and patient related assignments in support of the Food & Nutrition Department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, etc.
- Other duties assigned my management and/or deemed past practice.
- Pleasant and courteous demeanor. Customer service focused attitude.
- Conducts patient rounding weekly and RD meal rounds per dietitian request.
- Participates in staff development.
- Proficient with therapeutic diets; Reviews census sheets and makes diet corrections based on diet orders.
- Provides patient education on select therapeutic diets and drug-nutrient interactions as requested by the dietitians.
- Performs a variety of related administrative duties (RD Visit Reports as needed, utilizes diet order handouts for new patients).
- Learns EMR and Putty to perform necessary job functions.
- Answers telephone and utilizes appropriate logs; processes orders for immediate meal assembly.
- Prints reports, modified census and labels.
- Maintains current diet orders, allergies, etc. in computer system.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma Required.
Minimum 1 + yr of relevant work experience.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $24.16 - $26.71 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
