Summary:

The Rolling Stock Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various rolling stock, including flatbeds, forklifts, and company vehicles. This role ensures that all equipment is in optimal working condition while complying with safety regulations and operational standards. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on rolling stock, including forklifts, flatbeds, and company vehicles.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Track parts and manage inventory for all facility vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including daily, weekly, and monthly inspections.
  • Ensure all work adheres to State and Federal safety regulations.
  • Operate and maintain diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to enhance safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you Bring to Pacific Seafood:

Required:
  • Valid driver's license and required machinery certifications (e.g., forklift, expeditor, flatbed truck).
  • Forklift mechanic experience, including electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems, including wiring, control panels, and lighting.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to rolling stock maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred:
  • Certifications in diesel engine mechanics, electrical maintenance, or related fields.
  • Previous experience in seafood processing or manufacturing.
  • Experience working in cold or wet environments with exposure to moving machinery.

  • Constantly required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  • Wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold.

Pay Range:$21.75 to $27.41 per hour based on experience.
