In the role of Transmission/Distribution Designer, we'll count on you to:


  • Prepare transmission related drawings such as plan and profile drawings, structural details, foundation details, and other engineering drawings.
  • Perform calculations, reports and designs on transmission line design projects to support engineers.
  • Understand client standards and complete small projects and simple to moderately complex tasks, exercising judgment in design criteria, evaluation, and design, subject to review by engineers.
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks to meet project goals.
  • Communicate with Project Managers and Project Engineers.
  • Work independently to perform transmission and distribution design tasks, CADD design, develop design drawings and documents, perform PLS-CADD modeling and/or analysis, prepare material lists, perform field reviews, and other tasks for simple projects
  • Must be capable of effective communication; work in a team-oriented environment and possess analytical and organizational skills.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD, BOUD and Maximo.
  • Experience with or ability to learn PLS-CADD transmission line modeling software.
  • Ability to be a lead technician and work closely with engineering staff.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office
