Overview:

LMI is seeking an experienced Vice President to oversee our Air Force & Naval Services market during a period of unprecedented change and opportunity. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing profit & loss, driving growth, and maintaining our existing client relationships while expanding our presence across the market. This VP-level position will be based in Tysons Corner, VA but open to remote applicants who are open to travel as needed to customer sites. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of LMI's Defense market.

Location: The ideal candidate will be located in the DC metro area. Candidates outside of the DC metro area will be considered if their location is aligned to the mission of the role, e.g. near an Air Force, or Naval base location. Candidates outside of the DC area will also be expected to come to the national capitol region regularly.



Responsibilities

    Market Leadership:
    • Drive strategies to position LMI as a leader in providing technology-driven solutions within the Air Force and Naval Services markets. Leverage your extensive experience and client relationships to identify growth opportunities, assess market trends, and design targeted plans for market expansion. Drive execution to achieve revenue, profit, and growth targets through delivering innovative solutions.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Establish and nurture strong executive-level relationships with key clients within the DoD, ensuring their needs are understood and met. Collaborate with clients to identify challenges and opportunities, positioning LMI as a trusted partner for their mission-critical initiatives.
    • Understand the mission, strategy, and key issues and challenges faced by clients and leverage technology to shape solutions that align with their mission-critical initiatives. Bring the best of LMI's service line capabilities to help shape projects and business development opportunities in response to client needs.
  • Opportunity Identification:
    • Proactively identify and assess potential business opportunities by engaging in direct client discussions, understanding client requirements, competitive landscape, and industry trends. Work with business development teams to align LMI's capabilities and technology solutions with client needs and drive successful capture strategies.
    • Collaborate with business development and service lines to identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities, manage external partnerships (e.g., subcontractors and independent consultants), innovate on new service line capabilities and offerings, and drive overall client development opportunities.
  • Proposal Development:
    • Lead and guide the development of competitive proposals, ensuring they are tailored to meet client needs and showcase LMI's value proposition. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver compelling, innovative, and compliant proposals that resonate with clients.
  • Delivery Excellence:
    • Oversee the successful delivery of projects, collaborating with program managers and delivery teams to ensure requirements are met on time and within budget. Collaborate with Program Managers to integrate innovative technology into project execution, ensuring high-quality service and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle and all project requirements are met and projects are delivered in a cost-effective way.
    • Lead, manage, and coach Program Managers deployed to projects and empower the staff closest to delivery.
    • Collaborate with service lines to ensure LMI has the right staff members deployed to deliver the right services.
  • Financial Performance:
    • Drive account performance by monitoring financial metrics and account margins. Identify opportunities for margin improvement and cost optimization while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop comprehensive account marketing and pipeline plans that outline strategies for growth, market positioning, and client engagement. Continuously refine and adapt these plans based on market dynamics and feedback from clients and stakeholders.
    • Set the vision for partnerships and direct resources to drive technology-led innovation in client solutions.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in managing profit and loss across a variety of federal government contracts.
  • Solid understanding of the customer needs for the market and experience and relationships with key client organizations.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting defense agencies (Air Force) and naval services (Department of Navy and U.S. Marine Corps) clients.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and drive innovative solutions.
  • Willingness to travel as required to engage with clients, attend meetings, and participate in industry events.
  • Proven track record of success as an account leader within the Department of Defense, specifically with a strong focus on the Navy and Air Force markets.
  • Extensive experience in planning, pursuing, capturing, and delivering professional services, ideally within a similar value space as LMI.
  • Exceptional understanding of the defense industry, including technology based market trends and client needs within the specified sectors.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of commercial and platform centric solutions and experience successfully applying these solutions in the govcon space
  • Strong ability to collaborate to get things done in a matrixed organization (e.g., successful collaboration across markets and service lines in LMI's current structure).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth and deliver results, with a keen business acumen and strategic mindset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly in building and maintaining executive-level client relationships.
  • Experience in managing and leading high-performing and dynamic teams to deliver on program requirements.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong cultural fit and values alignment with LMI.
  • High degree of adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Active Secret security clearance or higher is preferred.
