Sechan Electronics is a 100% Employee Owned organization that provides products and services to the aerospace and defense industry. The In-Process Inspector I inspects company products at various stages of manufacture and monitors compliance to the company's quality policy. This individual documents the acceptance and rework of non-conforming material during the manufacturing process. Position Responsibilities: * Reviews and reads drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to understand quality requirements of manufactured products. * Inspects product (cables, circuit cards, assemblies, systems, etc.) manufactured at Sechan for compliance to industry standards, military specifications, and customer drawings. Performs first piece inspections as required. * Utilizes microscopes, test equipment, and standard measuring equipment to perform inspections. May have to work with a microscope for long periods of time. * Verifies all required documentation. * Works with Quality Engineers in the disposition of non-conforming material and in identification of defect trends in manufacturing processes. * Completes documentation of defects through data entry into company software platforms. * Submits products to source and/or customer inspectors as required. * Assists in keeping the inspection department compliant with all ISO/AS9102 requirements on continuing basis. * Works with customers and fellow employees in a professional and respectful manner. * Completes required training and becomes certified to applicable industry standards such as IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620 and J-STD-001. * Utilizes various software programs such as IFS, Aegis, and TipQA * Uses basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gages, etc., and understands their applications and proper use. * Performs other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide y the values of this organization. Skills & Abilities: * Basic knowledge of technical drawing interpretation * Experience with and understanding of standard measuring equipment. * Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities. * Possesses attention to detail and problem solving skills * Proficient computer skills. * Ability to work in a team environment. * Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time * Strong mathematical skills Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent * Ability to obtain IPC Certification (IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, etc.) * Department of Defense experience a plus but not required. * Ability to pass vision acuity exam per J-STD-001 and NASA STD's * Experience with Military and International Quality System rules, regulations, standards, including planning and implementation a plus. Work Environment: * Production Environment: Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including; sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. * Hours: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Thursday; Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM with additional hours as needed to meet demand. Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations. * 9/80 work schedule. |
