Acara Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Reliability Engineer to join our client's growing team in Colorado Springs, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on cross-functional product development teams. This role will support the development of high-reliability microelectronic products for aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial applications. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership in reliability assessments, qualification planning, customer engagement, and standards compliance.
Pay Range: $170,000 - $180,000 annually
10% bonus
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead reliability risk assessments throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Perform in-depth reliability evaluations of semiconductor process technologies, including:
    • Analysis of degradation mechanisms (e.g., HCI, TDDB, BTI, EM).
    • Silicon characterization and predictive model development.
  • Design and implement screening flows and qualification plans; author qualification reports.
  • Conduct FMEA/FMECA at both the component and system level.
  • Engage directly with customers to address reliability concerns across development and production stages.
  • Collaborate with external partners on part supply, screening, and qualification.
  • Support proposal development for reliability-related programs.
  • Mentor junior engineers in reliability engineering best practices.
  • Maintain and improve infrastructure for reliability assessments and qualification processes.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 10 yrs. minimum experience as a Reliability Engineer within semiconductor processing, IC design, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of high-reliability microelectronic screening and qualification flows.
  • Familiarity with industry standards including MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883, and JEDEC.
  • Experience with high-reliability PEM (Plastic Encapsulated Microcircuits) products.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • PEM-INST-001
    • ECSS-Q-ST-60-13C
    • AS6294/1 and AS6294/2
  • Experience assessing reliability of memory products (e.g., MRAM, NAND Flash).
  • Exposure to board- and system-level reliability characterization and analysis.
